Swall, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, di ed on Sunday, April 13, 2003.
She was born in Philipsburg, MT, on Novem ber 20, 1916 to William Watt Royal
and Anna Christina Ley Royal. After a ttending Drummond High School, she went
on to Montana Deaconess Hospita l School of Nursing and graduated with an RN
in 1938. She and Jack Ralp h Swall were married in 1940 in Great Falls, MT. Before
divorcing, they h ad two children, Heather who died in 1993 and Judith. Billie
is survive d by two granddaughters and their husbands, Sara Christine Vogel and
Se an Vogel and Katherine Royal Webb and Mathew Webb; her triplet great-gr anddaughters,
Hannah Rose, Layna Royal, and Anica Taylor Webb survive h er, too. Since they
were born on April 17, 2003, they did not get to me et their great-grandmother.
Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy Roy al Betts and Helen Royal Kanan, both
of Albuquerque and two nephews, Wi lliam Royal Betts and John Owen Betts. Billie
was a nurse for several A lbuquerque doctors including Wilkinson, Simms and Floyd
and Burris and C ornish. Billie will be remembered by all who knew her as a very
strong w oman who survived many losses and illnesses. She recalled taking a trai
n by herself to Missoula when she was only 17 to have an appendectomy. S he was
a caring person and a good friend to many. A member of Central M ethodist Church
for over 40 years, her Memorial Service will be held th ere at 3:00 o'clock p.m.
