Page 1 of Census book of Jackson Co. with 1860, 1870 & 1880, page 1 states Robert Hays was an early County Judge serving 1867 to 1870. He was married to Nancy Parrott on 17 Nov 1825 in Knox County, Kentucky.⁽¹³¹⁾

37. Nancy Parrott was born in 1806 in Knox County, Kentucky or Tennessee.⁽⁸⁰⁾⁽⁹²⁾ ⁽¹³²⁾ She died between 1862 and 1865. Children were:

i. Eliza Hays was born on 13 Nov 1826.⁽⁹²⁾⁽¹³³⁾ She died on 7 Apr 1906.⁽¹³⁴⁾
ii. Susan Hays was born in 1828 in Kentucky.⁽¹³⁵⁾
iii. Elizabeth Hays was born on 3 Apr 1831 in Kentucky.⁽¹³⁵⁾⁽¹³⁶⁾ She died on 18 Aug 1882.⁽¹³⁷⁾
iv. America L. Hays was born in 1833 in Kentucky.⁽⁸⁰⁾ She died after 1870.⁽⁸⁹⁾ America was living with her brother James and his wife Francis and their children on the census of 1870.
In 1860 census at age 27 she was living with her parents.
v. Martha Ann Hays was born on 7 Jan 1835 in Kentucky.⁽⁹²⁾
vi. Mary Jane Hays was born on 30 Sep 1836 in Kentucky.⁽⁸⁰⁾ She died on 1 Mar 1925 in Buried Baker Graveyard at Morrill, Kentucky.⁽¹³⁸⁾
vii. James Hays was born in 1839 in Kentucky.⁽⁸⁰⁾
viii. Franklin Hays was born in 1841 in Kentucky.⁽⁸⁰⁾⁽¹³⁵⁾
